The three prams in this guide split into two travel styles. The Bugaboo Butterfly 2 ($569 – $829) is the cheapest premium travel pram, folding to 45 × 36 × 23 cm. The UPPAbaby Minu V3 ($599) and Stokke YOYO³ ($599) follow at the same price. Below $500 you're in department-store territory — safe (AS 2088:2022) but heavier, with rougher folds and shorter warranties.
The Stokke YOYO³ ($599) folds to 52 × 44 × 18 cm and is the reference cabin-approved pram — it fits overhead on Qantas, Jetstar, and Virgin when folded into its travel bag. The Bugaboo Butterfly 2 (45 × 36 × 23 cm) also meets IATA cabin dimensions and includes a travel bag. The UPPAbaby Minu V3 (52 × 47 × 30 cm) is closer to gate-check size — check with your airline. All three are under 8 kg.

For travel, the compact trade-off is exactly what you want; for everyday all-terrain use, keep a full-size pram.
Often yes. A second-hand Stokke YOYO² or Bugaboo Butterfly for $250-$400 gets you the same compact fold for less — travel prams are lightly used and hold value. Check the fold mechanism (smooth, no grinding), brake firmness, fabric for mould/tears, and wheel bearings. Avoid prams older than ~6 years where plastic may have degraded. The previous generation (YOYO², original Butterfly, Minu V2) is functionally near-identical to current models for most buyers.
